Sony Honeycomb Tablet

Sony was generous enough to provide their new Android tablet which launched today. My first impressions of this tablet so far with about an hour of using it are positive. Sony has done a pretty remarkable job so far with this tablet, but over the next few weeks as I play with this Tablet let’s hope that it delivers a fantastic experience to the consumer. I am quite sure that it will.

Sony has developed this tablet so you can use it as a Remote Control and control all your media devices (including TV, Cable Box, Satellite Receiver and AV Receiver). This is one fantastic app, I absolutely love it! The other neat feature which they have and will work with and DLNA capable TV is the ability to push movies playing on your tablet over to the DLNA capable TV and start playing it on the big screen. Not only does this work for Videos, it works for audio devices which support DLNA. Now that is cool! I saw a first hand demo of this at the Sony event today and was speechless.

The Tablet will be released in Canada in the second week of September and will be available in 16GB and 32GB models. The price for these tablets is $499 and $599 respectively, if memory serves me correct. I was too excited to see the Push capability that I almost forgot to ask about the selling price.

More to come as I get familiar with this new toy over the next few days. I’ll leave you all with some pictures in the mean time.

Cheers!
